Be Respectful
Students have the opportunity to earn both individual and whole-class rewards for following the RES code (be safe, be responsible, and be respectful). They can either earn coins that can be used to purchase rewards at the PBIS store, or they can earn marbles to fill our classroom jar. For every 20 marbles that our class collects, they will earn choice time, and every 100 marbles earns a special celebration!
You may also hear students talking about being "bucket fillers." This idea is based on the book, Have You Filled a Bucket Today? by Carol McCloud, and ties in closely with the RES school code. Students show that they are bucket fillers by being kind, helpful, and caring, and can receive "bucket slips" from teachers, staff members, administrators, school visitors, and classmates. Every Friday, we celebrate our bucket-filling accomplishments by sharing students' bucket slips with the class.
